Columbia University: Hertog Global Strategy Initiative Lecture Series

The Hertog Global Strategy Initiative is a research program that employs historical analysis to confront present and future problems in world politics. Each summer, invited experts and select students gather at Columbia University for twelve weeks of intensive study, independent research, and collaborative writing on a critical issue in international affairs. The 2010 program was focused on “Nuclear Proliferation and the Future of World Power.” The 2011 program was focused on “The History and Future of Pandemic Threats and Global Public Health.” The 2012 program is focused on “Religious Violence and Apocalyptic Movements.”
